More wolves were arriving.... Pain was increasing.... snarls.... growls..... So many scents, yet strongest was his own blood. Lobolita pushed harder but he couldn't understand a word they were saying. Nothing was going to turn out the way he had hoped, and now Frost was in danger, and war could break out. The pain was blurring his thoughts once more and he decided he had to say one more thing to Frost... His last words he was sure. "Frost, go. Keep yourself safe, and prevent war. Just... Go. Leave me. The packs shouldn't suffer because of me.... I... llll....." He could no longer speak or form a single thought. The only thing he could do was suffer through the pain and hope Frost had a good life without him.

It had been a long day. A long, exhausting day. Kishi hadn't actually done all that much, sure, she'd gone for a short wander through the Xyla territory, and then had made an attempt at finding some decent food. The short session of rabbit tracking, however, had completely warn the fae out, so she had grudgingly padded back to the small hideout she'd been resting in, a foul mood enveloping her. She growled to herself, pushing through the branches and flopping herself down in the gentelest way possible, rolling onto her side slightly. Resting her head on her paws, she slowly closed her eyes, and fell lightly asleep.
It wasn't until later that day that the alphess awoke again, disturbed by the sound of a warning howl, someplace in the territory. Kishi lifted her head, ears standing erect as she listened to the message, realising shortly after that that the voice behind the howl was Koiro, calling for help because of a situation with an intruder, or something along those lines. Kishi snarled, snapping her jaws shut in anger. Couldn't those damn strangers pick somewhere else to go, for a change?! To walse into someone elses territory was plain rude, and any other pack would see the opportunity to just shed some blood. But no! not the Xyla. Not the good old Xyla, who seemed to allow any old wolf to just wander through the territory unnoticed, welcoming them warmly instead of chasing them out. And it seemed these loners would take advantage of that these days!
For a second, she debated whether it would be wrong as the Alphess to ignore the call and let one of the others deal with it, but she quickly shook off that idea. If she started thinking like that, then she'd hardly be fit to call herself the Alphess. It was her duty, as the leader, to attend to this kind of thing, so attend she would. Unless Shade got there first. It was his job to deal with stuff like this now, too. Something she still hadn't quite gotten her head round. Frowning, the femme stood up, and padded towards the direction of the sound, bringing her irritated mood along with her. She'd been making a point of avoiding the rest of the pack, just until her moods settled down again, and whilst she got her head around things. Now, however, she was going to have to face them. and for some reason, that seemed to her a very daunting task.
After a short jog in the correct direction, the scene itself graced her eyes. A very odd scene, it was, one that she struggled to understand, until everything eventually fell into place. So, with an heir of irritation about her, she padded forward.
[crappiest post, my apologies. I've played this as though its after kishi and shade have mated, as well as frost and oak. If that doesnt fit with anyone, drop me a message and i'll edit it.]

Koiro did, though, come out, and gave a warning howl of an intruder, or at least danger. Good, hopefully the other Xyla would come, they would be much more capable of handling this than a young heir, a loner, and a weak shaman. Still, her heart was left in knots of fear for what was to come. Even if this was sorted out, it wouldn't be without some bloodshed, and that's just exactly what would be the worst thing in the current state of the packs. Not to mention the humans. And the return of Zentha, while those were only rumors, it left her and her pack with the most sticky situation she'd ever seen, or even heard about. The fae continued trying to soothe the angry alphess, and Frost shook her head into the present. "I understand your upset, but you have dealt your punishment where as if you feel I may not be enough if you stay you could be punished as well. He and the other fae involved have another alpha to deal with. End your battle here, there's no need to risk injury to yourself when you have others depending on you in your pack lands." She paused, and then continued,"besides, didnt you say your pack members were free to come and go as they please and befriend and be with whom they choose?" Oh really? She did? So she was going against her own word? Frost growled quietly, anger seething out of her. "He will probably be blinded at least temporally, with winter weather.. survival for him is gonna be tougher now especially with the possiblity of a family on the way. if you try to punish him more I will interfere this is punishment enough." Frost shuddered. She knew it, but she preferred not to think about that. She finally finished her reasoning. Reasoning wouldn't help one ravaged with emotion. It causes one to think in muddled ideas. She knew this as a fact, and it was always obvious, still, she slightly admired the fae for trying. Ever so slightly, and for standing so close. Lobalita ignored her words and just pressed down harder. Frost glared at her, she had to stop this-she was going to kill him! "Who are you boy?" she snarled at Koiro. But then, she noticed a smell... Shade? Really? Finally! She looked up with anticipation. Finally someone able to handle this demon! The smell wafted through and then the owl flew in. Her initial excitement was washed away soon, though. This would still be a bad situation. And she and Oak started it. Then her spirits soared again as she smelled Kishi. Those two would most definitely handle it. She sniffed again. something was off with Kishi's smell... Something... They'd mated! The realization hit her like a rock. She had known it all along, that they would, but it was still a small surprise. then she finally noticed Oak had been talking. She didn't catch any of it, because once she finally noticed, he had finished.

This ends now quit letting your pride control you... suck it up and go before you embarrass yourself and your pride is hurt more

This just caused the brute's rage to boil over, he went charging in full steam, slamming into the alphess with a sicking thud, lobolita was tossed into the air and thrown a short distance by the impact, but as she rose back to her feet she did the one thing that would stop shade's rampage, She spoke up, "Wait! wait wait!, i challenge you to a race, from one end of the beach to the other". after while of nothing but silence the brute huffed as if he was going to decline the challenge. that is when he spoke up and what he said might of shocked everyone but it was the truth.
"Damn it.. The warrior code prevents me from declining any challenge," the brute was forced to back off to a distance where the alphess did not feel like she was in any danger, then he spoke up again, " Fine, what are your terms what is the catch"
"If i win, i get to take oak back to my territory and none of you can stop me" Lobolita grinned thinking she had the xyla pack beaten, after all shade had no choice but to accept, "Oh and none of your pack may help you or interfer in the race, if they do i gain the right to end oak's life on the spot" she glanced over at the loner. 'That includes you"
"And if i win" shade said with a snarl, this was not something lobolita had really espected but she was forced to give the male what he wanted. "If you win i will leave and oak will be yours to do with as you see fit"

a low growl emitted once more i wont interfere but why should we play fair when you go against your word, your obviously an alphess who doesnt know what she wants. to be feared or loved by her pack. she shook her tiara and turned away she could not watch this fellow wolf life be bet in a race disgraceful... her gait picked up into a trot and she moved into the tree line just out of view. there she laid herself down at the base of some roots with the ground sunk in there she listened intently. waiting for more fighting, or celebration. she knew someone could pull the brute away while she raced she couldnt do both, but if shade won there was no point in pointing his life in danger more. a deep breath huffed her lips out and in again. if something happened she would offer to help the snowy fae with the pups. if it was allowed. as of now she could only wait.

Koiro was slightly confused. She was an alphess? How was this possible- the only other two alphess on this island, aside from his mother, were Senna and Suko, and this wasn't either of them. Perhaps she was the successor of a challenge, and had taken over as ruler of one of the packs? An exciting thought, but surely their would have been some sort of announcement about it? The Xyla would have been told. And still, if that was the case, what would she be doing all the way over here? This area was not joined to any of the packs. As far as he knew, the area beyond the Xyla borders belonged to noone but a few loners. Satarah spoke again asthough she knew this female, but Koiro was no longer doubting whos side she was on. Satarah has made it perfectly clear that she did not agree with the actions of this fae.
'Who are you boy?'
Koiro scoffed, not willing to answer any demanding questions that this wolf felt fit anough to ask. Instead, he moved to stand next to frost, ears still pulled back and teeth continuously bared. Then came the familiar scent that was both a mixture of irritation and relief, as the warrior Shade entered the area, accompanied by the owl. He felt Frosts relief as it ebbed from her, and he knew now that whatever happened, her 'friend' the male was no longer in any real danger. Shade was experienced in battle. He would handle this. And then the situation changed, everything happening at an immense speed. Satarah burst from the spot where she stood, throwing herself with a force at the intruding femme, whom retaliated with her own force. Both females clashed, but the 'alphess' wold untangled herself, dragging the male away even further. And the again, their was a switch, and Shade was conversing with her, proposing some sort of deal. A race, and whoever won got to keep this male. It was a strange proposition, that was for sure, but their was no doubt that Shade knew what he was doing- hopefully. More words were exchanged, and the wolf under threat himself said something, although whatever it was was inaudible.

Shade tried this, and succeeded tremendously, but just as Lobalita was getting up and he was going to shred her to bits, something Frost was very excited to see, She proposed a race. What?! Then Shade replied with something about a warrior code forcing him to accept. She had never heard of this, and really, why stop now? Nothing forces him into it, and seriously, when you challenge someone to something, it means you can refuse. Why was he throwing away this perfectly good chance? If she won, she had the right to keep Oak, and none of his pack, including the loner could stop them. Rage coursed through her. Why was Shade being so... Dumb? And how is it that he can agree to terms binding down some wolves? She had no right to say, "you can't do this," and neither could he! Suddenly making a deal making some wolves unable to do anything when one wasn't even in a pack was disgusting! Even worse than betting on another wolf! It was like dogs. She'd heard of them once or twice. They were bought, and they did whatever their human told them regardless of even asking for permission to do that. What a stupid pack. Wolves wander in and out of the borders. Two wolves bet on another's life. They have unauthorized control over a loner. How sickening. She felt so helpless against the pure injustice of others. WHat a horrible feeling. How much it wrenches the will out of you. She plopped down onto the ground and buried her head in her paws. Life just couldn't get worse. Koiro moved in next to her, but she didn't notice. Then, a sudden reminder sparked. Where was Halgea? Surely they didn't leave her alone with a wound like that! She had a strong will, Frost had observed, but nobody was with her?

The scene unfolded before her eyes as she padded calmly towards the group, watching each one with mere interest and an irritated mind. Kishi sniffed the air, taking in each of the scent individually and analysing them in her mind. The wolf that was posing a threat had a strange aroma, almost like that of an alpha wolf. It was certainly dominant, although why that would be she just couldnt figure. It was not the scent of either Senna, nor Suko, and so another Alphess was not possible. And Frosts scent, that was different too.. sort of mingled with that of another. Like a male. The idea surprised Kishi, but not enough to anger her. It was Frosts choice what she got up to, and frankly Kishi wanted nothing to do with it, just as long as it didnt bring them any trouble.
The white wolf was someone else she did not recognise, but her scent was vaguely failiar, and the alphess knew she'd smelt her on the way down, passing through the land at some point, near the dens. This female threw herself at the more dominant stranger, causing a small ammount of damage, before the stranger pulled away, dragging the downed ale along with her. Then Shade, a wolf that she had been particularly trying to avoid, tried the same, his bulk causing more of a hit, but again, the stranger got away. Then the wolves began to converse, but Kishi could not hear what was being said.
Padding towards them with both her head and tail held high, keeping her glare directed at the dominant wolf and the other strange, deliberately avoiding eye contact with any of the pack wolves, Kishi pulled back her lips, revealing her canines and snapped, Whats going on here?!

She still felt that oak owed her his life and she was not about to let him just walk away from her, without a second thought on the subject, the increasingly unstable fae shoved her larger foe into a incoming tree, taking him out of the race just long enough for her to get a mighty lead on him, by the time shade had recovered and rejoined the race, she was half way back to the group and was already thinking of how she was going to punish oak for putting her through this, a insane grin formed on her maw as she licked her lips but then something happened that brought her world crashing to a halt,
The very brute she was racing against came from the woods beside her, but his mind was no longer on the race even though he knew the stakes, shade in clear view of his alphess and pack and the loners, his anger exploded and he rammed the stranger off of her feet, which forced an unlikely savior to come to her rescue, Shade's own owl tried his best to intervene and prevent his masters rampage but it was no good, with a swift kick the owl was knocked out of his masters path, if it was not clear before it was now, shade had lost it, his anger now clouding his judgement but he was not about to let this stranger win and possibly kill someone that frost had feelings for.
He did not approve of them sneaking around to do what they did, but no one deserved to die for proving their love, shade stood over the white stranger, his tail held high his fangs bared as he snarled, "This is over, either you leave now or you don't leave at all", the blood chilling sentence was said loud enough, that it traveled all the way back to his alphess and the group of wolves, the warrior had never spoken so coldly especially if it concerned another wolf's life, he had only killed when he was ordered to by kishi or her mate, but clearly this was not the same shade that his pack use to know.

satarah began moving forward. from where she was she could see the blood stained snow. he would need help, and the snow fae would no doubt be horrified. reaching the spot he was originally in she began to move the snow around to bury the scent as best she could. she was sure they didnt want to attract anymore unwanted attention. she felt out of place. this wasnt her pack and she was an intruder so she didnt move any closer. she laid down front paws together head resting on them and ears down showing submission. there she would stay until kishi or shade greeted her.

The "alphess" won the race, Shade attacked. Oh goody. This was all her fault. She was the one who started it in the first place. She was slumping down, when she realized something. Immediately she darted out to Oak, unconscious, in agony Oak, and started licking the blood away. She did it with the utmost care, but her eyes were solid chips of stone, daring anyway to come closer. The blood was disgusting to say the least, but she didn't think about it. She didn't think about anything really. Not what she was doing, not what was around her, only feeling fury. As soon as the worst cleared away, she plopped down beside him and came back into her mind. He was safe (mostly). She was going to be safe (sorta), everything would be (not really) all right. She warmed him while she watched everything else. Dread filled her again. The situation wasn't good. Fine for her pack, but the future would bring revenge. More blood spilled and pain induced.

Shade turned slightly and looked directly at Kishi for some reason he was glad that she had shown up now, He went to look back at the invader and that is when she made a huge mistake.
As the brute turned back toward the alphess she lunged toward the massive warrior slashing at his right eye, Shade managed to shove the fae to the ground but was forced to look away as blood dripped to the ground but he was far from out of the fight, if anything her foul-hearted attack only angered the irate male even more, Shade shook the pain from his mind and refocused on the fae. "You will pay for that!" but before his words could ring true, Just like a snake lobita slipped though an openning between two trees that her larger foe would not be able to fit though and made her way out of the Xyla territory, disappering from sight for good.
Shade turned back toward his pack, three gashes above and below his right eye, She had narrowly avoided damaging his eye-sight by taking out his eye completely, But she was in the past the new alpha male turned his attention to the injuried male as he padded back toward the group, but as he reached frost and the male he surpisingly did not stop or even slow down to see if he was okay. Instead he padded directly up to kishi even though she was clearly in foul mood and proceeded to gently nuzzle her muzzle and whisper "i'm sorry" into her ear, Surely she knew what it was that he was talking about.
