The sound of paws crunching through the crisp snow of the Rocky Outback broke the silence of the night, the silvery moon shedding light on the hunter that stalked the earth. No matter if there was a blistering heat, you could find some compfort in the cool outback. That was exactly what Flint planned on doing. It was nice to feel the cooling sensation the thin sheet of snow gave his calloused paws. It was a far better feeling than the unbearable heat he felt during the long days of summer. He quickly curled back his lip in destaste. God, did he ever hate the heat.. He much rathered the fall. At least then it wasn't so hot, nor was it freezing cold.
Afterwalking aimlessly through the outback, he had finally reached his destination, therefore coming to a hault. A pool of water, surprisingly unfrozen, lied ahead of him. He had come to get a drink before the pool would freeze again with the night dropping tempetures. He took a few more steps, just enough so that his two front paws touched the cool liquid. He dropped his heavy, multi-hued head to the water and lapped it up. It was like a ritual he had made recently.. Wake up, wander the island, pick a fight or two with a male, flirt with the females, eat, come here to drink, think and sleep. Then his day would start over again. It was a pretty boring lifestyle.. but it wasn't always this way. A few months ago, there was plenty of action and drama on Kongrai. Rumors of his father were whispered, the three packs were gaining members, and of course, feas were bountiful! Being the womaniser he was, he couldn't help but flirt around them. Recently though, only two had struck his attention. A ivory femora named Akila, and a secretive wolfess named Katri.
He met Akila some time ago, trapped by savage mutts and yelling humans with loud weapons. He escaped with his wounded paws.. but he was unsure what ever happened to the fea. He was sure she was behind him, but he was wrong. Either the two-legged beasts had killed her, or she had somehow managed to escape. He coudln't be sure, since he had not seen or heard of her since that day. As for Katri.. well, what could he say? She was a female, and merely that inticed him. Well.. almost every wolfess gained his attention, but nothing compared to those two. He was unsure why, but they just stood out from the rest.
After his thirst was quenched, he lifted his head away from the water, and looked at the stars dotting the sky. The night sky never ceased to amaze him. Millions upon millions of bright stars accompinied the luminous moon each night, a great end to each day. But every night bring him the same thought.. what ever happened to his plans? He was once feared by others(with the exception of some feas), planning to overrule the packs that inhabited this island and make them his own. To be a king of all Kongrai.. that, was his goal. Yet, it seemed like it was merely a dream. There wasn't enough wolves on the island. How most of them dissappeared was beyond him. There was no point in taking over a pack that didn't even have members. So, this was the situation it left him him. He became a vagabond. All he could do was go about his same boring 'schedule' and wait until every was ready. Exhaling a puff of air, he sat back, and gazed at the sky. Perhaps nothing interesting would come around-or so he thought..

The glint of sun reflecting from the snow covered ground really did look beautiful. Almost as beautiful as the moon had looked the night before, over on High waves beach. That truly had been wonderful. A sight every wolf of Kongrai must long for, even the Skyla. Even Zentha himself. The picture of the bright moon so big, so close to the water, it was refreshing.. Clensing even. Beautiful.
Akila padded carefully over the snowy rocks, concentrating so hard on where she was putting her paws that she was not really paying attention to which direction she was actually going. Nor what was infront of her. Pictured thoughts of the day before kept running through her mind. Walking through the snow in the hopes of finding sanctuary away from the heat, meeting the other fae, her friend Ladonna, and their trip down to that glorious beach. She'd been a nice wolf, friendly, the sort Akila could easily get along with. She so hoped to catch up with her again some time.
Surprisingly, the heat didn't seem to be bothering her this time round. It was still warm, yes, it was definitely still warm, but she didn't feel it the way she had yesterday. She no longer ached for food, for water, for shade. Thankyou, gods, Akila thought gratefully, coming to the conclusion that this was some sort of reward for visiting the place where the moon touched the earth. She would have to make sure she visited their again, to keep on heavens good side.
So wrapped up in her musing over heaven and earth, was the white wolf, that she had lost all sence of where she was, and where she was going. Akila didn't even register the new, wolfy scent that was lingering in the air over here. If she had been concentrating, this would have concerned her. She was not the bravest of wolves. No, if the scent had clicked with he, she'd have frozen by now. She'd be tense, jumpy, and defensive. But Akila just continued padding along, completely unaware that she had company.

As minutes passed by, the lone timber wolf lay peacefully motionless after becoming lost in a trance-like state. It was hard not to feel tranquil with this ideal scenery. It was obvious why he came here every night..well, that, and another important reason. This was the last place he had seen his mother and siblings. The place where he was born. The place, where he was left to die. Those dark memories didn't creep upon him often, but when they did, it took him back to the days where he could say thay he had the perfect family.. His golden optics narrowed, knowing that he shouldn't dwell upon the past. It would just leave him thinking about his famous father,Zentha, and leave him in thought of finding him. He realised that he had come to terms that he may never find neither of his parents.
The bulky brute raised himself up onto all fours, shaking the snow from his smooth coat. He trudged slowly around the pool of water to take his mind off of his family. Flint thought that perhaps finding a den for some rest would do him some good, but his legs came to abrupt hault. The wind wafted into the male's nostrills, and with it, brought an intoxicating scent. A coy smile was revealed as he figured nothing smelled so good as a females scent. And that, was definatly a female. "Looks like sleep is at the bottom of my agenda, now." The vagabond chuckled, swiftly trotting off in the direction to the unknown female. Finally, he had some company! After some time of being alone, it felt good to share some time with another lupin-especially if it was a pretty little fea. As he become closer and closer to the scent, he could see the ivory wolfess in the distance. She was remarkably stunning.. more so than most other femora's he had encountered. Something, was amiss. He never felt this enticed by a female before. Only by two, he felt like this.. His golden pools squited to see that he, indeed, had meet this wolf before. His smile had significantly broadened as the memories of the fea came over him. It was Akila.
The womaniser silently padded behind her as once again with his tail and head raised, just like the time they first met. More memories began to flood through his mind. After all this time, she was alive! He wasn't sure if the humans had captured her that eventful day-but there she was. Her coat umblemished, her features as flawless as they had always been-She was beautiful. Though he did admit, he had said that for countless other females-but she was one of the top outstanding. Finally reaching at a close-enough hearing distance, he parted jaws to reveal his velvety voice. "Well, well.. if it isn't Akila." He was unsure how she would react, so he remained a few feet behind her. "Remember me?"

The white femme was trying her best to keep her eyes open as she walked. She was incredibly tired, but sleep was out of the question. Everytime her eyelids closed, frightful images of her past ran through her mind, making it feel like she was reliving them. Over, and over, and over again. And she hated it. That was why she'd come here in the first place, because their was absolutely no chances of a fire starting, even in this weather, and the cold was enough to stop her from falling asleep. Now, however, it didn't seem to be working as well as it usually did. The recent lack of sleep had finally caught up with her, and she was really struggling to stay conscious, even with the chilling snow biting into the pads of her ivory paws.
Akilas eyes closed for a few seconds, and immediately images from her past, ones she'd locked in the back of her mind, and sworn to never think about again, flashed out infront of her. Her brothers, playing their horrible trick on her younger sister. Watching the young Fae trot off innocently into the woods in search of this 'magical pool'. Waiting around all day anxiously for her sisters return. The site of the black smoke rising high above the trees. Running into the woods, the air with burning, with her brothers, shouting their sisters names. The high, orange flames surrounding them in every direction. The sick feeling in her stomach. The sight, and smell, of death.
The Fae opened her eyes, jerking slightly, and sucking in a quick, sharp, crisp breath. She panted heavily for a few minutes, frantically trying to erase those pictures from her memory. Finally, she calmed, and carried on padding forward silently. 'Well, well.. if it isn't Akila.' The White Wolf froze solid at the sudden voice from behind her, the outburst of noise in this usually silent wonderland shocking her into feeling wide awake. 'Remember me?' She turned on her spot, already trying to assess whether she was under threat by analysing the way this Brute was speaking, only to find herself face to face with a very familiar looking wolf. Akila narrowed her eyes, auds running over him, trying to pinpoint where she knew him from. Her mind flashed back to a certain point last year, when she had been stuck on that ridiculously creepy Island, with a Brute called .. "..Flint?" Could it possibly be him? She had believed him to be dead! The memory of that day was hazy. She recalled stumbling across him on the rocky beach, the pads of his paws ripped into shreads. They'd been hunted by horrible creatures that stood on two legs, and packs of what had looked like wolves. They weren't wolves, though. They were nothing but low, weak mutts. However, for the life of her, she could not remember how they had gotten off of the Island. She'd always thought he'd been killed by the creatures and their mutts. Or perhaps swept away by the strong tides that hid beneath the waters calm, lying surface, waiting for its next unexpecting victim. The femme looked at the Brute closer. It was him! "I thought you were dead!" She exclaimed, grinning widely, before adopting a calm look on her face, with nothing but a hint of a smile showing on her maw. "I see your paws have healed up nicely."

"..Flint?"
The dulcet tones of the female made him truely believe that this was that same fea he thought had perished from the humans. He don't know how she had managed to escape, but somehow she had escaped from harm. He'd ask later, but right now, he was too enthused about this reunion. After all, she did save his rear a few times back on that foggy island. "Dead? Akila, you should know better.. I'd never see your pretty-little face again-that wouldn't have been a good option." He gave her a sheepish-looking grin, knowing damn well he had thoughts about her being dead as well. How he had gotton out of that hell was nothing short of a miracle. His paws had open wounds from cutting them on the sharp, jagged rocks of the islands beach. If that wasn't unbearble enough, the time it had taken for them to heal was much worse. He had to stay off his paws for a while in order to heal properly. He'd even put some cobwebs occasionaly when they would bleed or re-open.
"I see your paws have healed up nicely."
Miraculously. He lifted up paw from the crust of snow covering the groud, and shook it off to look at it. There was a scar on it, but that didn't matter much. What was important was that they recovered, and that he could walk again without feeling pain. "They have.. don't know how I got out with the shape they were in." His golden pools gazed upon the small female, a question cicling through his thoughts earlier had sprung up again. "If you don't mind me asking.. how did you get away from them..? The two-leggeds, and those 'lesser' wolves."

Keeping the joy that she was feeling right now from showing on her face was really starting to become a struggle. This was possibly the happiest she'd felt in .. well .. a very long time. And, by force of habit, she was having to keep it hidden. Akila had no idea why she felt she need do this. It was just something she had always done. Ever since, well, ever since her sister was killed. Perhaps, in the back of her mind, she felt she should not feel happiness? Out of respect for her dead family. Out of respect for being the only one left alive.
'Dead? Akila, you should know better.. I'd never see your pretty-little face again-that wouldn't have been a good option.' The White Fae enjoyed his flattery, and wasn't capable of controlling the large smile that grew on her maw. How her luck had changed! She'd gone from wandering the lands alone, deprived of company, to meeting two friendly wolves within a week, one whom she knew from past experience! Akila was much preferring this side of the bridge, with other wolves, and no morning waking up knowing their are endless, lonely days awaiting. Her day, here, now, she could look forward to, and enjoy, because she was no longer alone. She craved the company, and, finally, god had approved her longings. "And you, Flint, should know better than to think I will fall at your sweet compliments." She insisted with a grin.
The Brute infront of her lifted his front paw, and she spotted the remains of what had been a dreadful injury. A simple scar was all they had left. Nothing too bad. 'They have.. don't know how I got out with the shape they were in.' She had to admit, he was lucky to get away in one piece. Those paws had been in a complete mess, and Akila could not even begin to imagine what pain he must have been in on that dreadful day. The poor, poor wolf. 'If you don't mind me asking.. how did you get away from them..? The two-leggeds, and those 'lesser' wolves.' Well, that was a question she'd asked herself weeks after waking up on the beach. The fae cast her mind back, trying with all her energy to find the missing end to that memory, but, as always, came up with nothing. She sighed. "I truly wish I could answer that one for you, but I don't know. All I remember is being chased by those terrible two-leggeds, and then it all sort of .. fades out." Another sigh. "Its happened before. I forget specific details, leaving half of my memories unfinished. I did wake up on the Beach after, exhausted and coughing up water, so I assume we swam. I searched for you after that, but found nothing. So, i presumed you dead." She told him guiltily, wincing at her pathetic attempt at an explanation.

"And you, Flint, should know better than to think I will fall at your sweet compliments."
The large timber wolf chuckled softly as the female played 'hard to get'. Yet, the broad smile that was plastered onto her delicate features had told him otherwise. He did not question it, though. He was just content with reminissing and just being able to comunicate with Akila. The last wolves he had ever spoken to was her, and the former alphess of the Liazo. As his thoughts circled around that pack, he realised that the had quite a few alphas. Yet, none seemed to survive. Either the cold seasons had took a toll on them, or perhaps they were slaughtered by the boudering pack of the Skyla. Either thought was feesible, but ever since that pack lost it's numbers, the whole island grew alittle more peaceful since the Skyla had no one to torment. Then again, it would only be a matter of time before his former pack would go after the Xyla.
"I truly wish I could answer that one for you, but I don't know. All I remember is being chased by those terrible two-leggeds, and then it all sort of .. fades out. It's happened before. I forget specific details, leaving half of my memories unfinished. I did wake up on the Beach after, exhausted and coughing up water, so I assume we swam. I searched for you after that, but found nothing. So, i presumed you dead."
After snapping out of his minds debates, he listened attentively to Akilas story. From what he could gather, she must have fell uncounsious in the water, and drifted to shore perhaps. Then again, anything could happen on this mysterios island. He nodded at the femme when she finished, sitting back on his hauches as he began to speak. "Yes.. I remember swimming away from that cursed island, but as soon as I hit shore, I had to rest." He sort of glared at his scared paws, reminissing of the pain he endured with them. "I could only crawl to the safety of a hollow tree further inshore.. When I got up the next morning to search for you.." He stopped mis-sentence, realising she must had thought of him as foolish to only try to find her after the day they met to find her. Flint may have been ruthless in his heart, but deep down, it was against his 'laws' to abbandon a female in such a situation. The first few weeks after the encounter with humans made him feel horrible, thinking that it was his fault for possibly 'killing' Akila. If only his paws were not wounded, he would have searched for her as soon as possible. Now he was sounding like the guilty one.
Golden pools peered back up at the white wolfess, a sort of apologetic look covering his visage. Flint could hardly believe that a sorry would even be approved from her-but it was worth a try. "Akila.. I'm sorry. I should have paid more damn attention to where you were." Of course, he couldn't finish without some sort of flattery involved. A light smile appeared on his maw, before adding "Besides, I don't know how I managed to look away from such a beautiful wonder as yourself."

The confirmation from Flint over how they had gotten off the Island in the first place proved a great relief on Akilas mind. So they had swum, just as she had suspected! She'd spent a long, long time going ver the different possibilities to what had happened, and finally having this part of the mystery answered left less of her memories nothing more than a blank fog. It was slowly beginning to peice together.
'Akila.. I'm sorry. I should have paid more damn attention to where you were.'
The femme shrugged, as if it didn't matter. Which of course, it didn't. After all, she couldn't find him, just as much as he couldn't find her. Memories of that dreadful day came swimming back before her eyes, causing her light, joyous mood to plummet, as she relived the fear and loss she had felt back then. Things she definitely did not want to remember. She wasn't angry with him for disappearing. How could she be, when she'd presumed him dead? But now he was back, alive! He, however, was apparently angry at himself for her. "Its fine, don't worry about it."
'Besides, I don't know how I managed to look away from such a beautiful wonder as yourself.'
Akila smiled faintly at another compliment, eyes shining, shaking her head in apparent embarassment at the attention, but hiding the fact that she was beaming on the inside from showing through her features.

Flint breathed a deep sigh of relief when the fea merely shrugged about not being able to find her. In a way, he was glad that she didn't care. It put him a little more at ease when talking about the ordeal. Besides, it was unlike the brute to worry so much for another one of his kind. Of course Akila had been on his mind for a while this that fateful encounter, but why fuss over it? Any other female, there names would be erased from his mind withen a few days. There was no way they could be more beyond shamelessly flirting with each other, perhaps even as far as a friendship. Such a thing as 'love' certainly was not on his agenda. Even if the ladies man were to change his ways to pursue the she wolf-any female- he'd only end up crushing her heart in the end when his future plans were in place. Due to that, there couldn't be a possible way to have such thing as a mate. Yet, his mind debated with him.. he tried to shake off the thoughts, blaming it on breeding season that seemed pretty close.
After Flint had complmented her, her angelic visage shined brightly as a small grin appeared on it. Ebon lips curled back into a smile as he huckled softly to himself. "Is that a smile I see..?" He inquired as he made a few steps closer towards the femora, completely forgetting the previous thoughts he had earlier. Smouldering gold pools gazed at the ivory wolfess, trying to refrain from smile more. It looked as if she tried to hide her feelings about what he said, but it was already too late. Whoever said flattery would get you no way, had to be wrong. A moment ago, she seemed to get depressed for a brief moment. Now her mood seemed to brighten up abit. It actually made his own mood perk up abit. Why, he was a little unsure. He just blamed it on the damn season that was coming up. Of course, he wasn't going to try anything like that now.
The brute suddenly sparked an idea, and dipped his snout into the layer of glistening snow. He swung his head upwards, and with that, came a pile of snow flicking up at his companion. His soft banner wagged slighly as a mischevious smirk dawned his features. "Try smiling now-Well,when you wipe the snow off your face." He didn't mean any harm, he just struck into a playful, flirty mood. She'd probably get him back twice as worse, but he didn't mind. Anything to keep his mind off of the humans that had struck fear into their hearts that day would help alot.

Her eyes perked into a challenging look as she watched him walk slightly closer, her smile brightening into a quirky grin. Akila was grateful from the sudden change in subject, not only because he was - what? - flirting with her? But also because she'd rather think about anything, other than that nasty day. The femme watched him warily, not quite sure what he was doing, to be honest. It wasn't that she was afraid of him. Not at all. She was just unsure of his intentions. Still, their was no harm in matching him, in his little flirtatious game, right?
Suddenly, their was snow on her face. In her eyes. The unanounced cold shocked her, and she laughed, trying to refrain from the sneeze she felt coming. So that was how he wanted to play, was it? Akila shook the snow off of her fur gracefully, knowing full well the way she moved her head would allow the sun to glint off her clean, ivory body. Her eyes narrowed on him, the corners of her mouth quirking up slowly. The femme walked by him, allowing her side to brush his, keeping her eyes staring directly into his. "Is that really the best you can do? Come now Flint, I thought you were a bigger wolf than that. Top of your game, you know? " Akila smiled, amused. "Are you really going to waste your precious time flicking snow into my face?" Sure, she'd play him at his own game. And have fun doing so, too. After all, it was what she was good at.

Flint was surprised at the graceful way she removed the snow from her petite frame. Mostly because the way she presented herself doing it.. was she trying to beat him at his own game? His golden optics were transfixed to her umblemished coat, the way the snow glistened in the silvery lunar rays made her look that much beautiful. Perhaps she was beating him at his game..no. He couldn't allow her to overpower his mind like this. He was the one who was supposed to do that to her-not the other way around.
"Is that really the best you can do? Come now Flint, I thought you were a bigger wolf than that. Top of your game, you know? "
Her sultry toned seemed to caress his thoughts. For once in his womanising life, he was speechless. He could not conjure up some charming retort, nor could he think on any playful gesture. The ivory femoras bodice nudged softly against his muscular frame, both sets of eyes now locked onto one anothers. It was like she now had him in a deep trance. Nothing could interupt this moment, not even the cool breeze that whisked through there fur. It was clear to him, probably the only clear thing in his otherwise clouded mind, that she had him mesmorised. Everything about her now enticed him. Her intoxicating scent, the way she moved, her angelic appearence-why was his mind so fixed on her? It just had to be breeding season, his thoughts wouldn't be so foggy if it wasn't. How the hell could he control himself now? All he wanted now was-well, what every wolf craved for in autumn. He couldn't though-he must not let those strong feeling overcome him.
"Akila, you should know know that's not the best I can do," His smooth, velvety voice bekoned to the fea, turning to face her. She wanted to play his game, then fine. He was going to play-after all, he had the experience. Sautering his timber build close to her, he nipped softly at her neck, not hard enough to hurt her, but in a playful manner. There was almost no space betwen the two now, they were face to face. A smirk dawned on his features before replying once more, "The question is, can you handle it?" He had some self-control left in his larger body, not letting the 'urge' get to him. If he tried to breed with her, then he'd have pups-others that he would have to care for. He didn't have the time to care for him. Just like his father before him, he'd probably end up abbandoning them, and he wasn't willing to let that happen. All he wanted was some shameless fun with an old friend.

To be quite honest, Akila herself wasn't even entirely sure what she was doing. Flint had always been a flirt. Even when they were running for their lives, across that hell hole of an Island, he'd managed to slip in a few complimentary words about her. She'd become used to the way he worked, and had assumed that, even though she hadn't seen him in, like, a year, she'd been friend with him long enough for his compliments to have no effect on her. Apparently she was wrong? Maybe she'd been so terrified of losing her life back on the Island, that she hadn't been paying enough attention to the nice things he'd said, for them to stick in her mind, but now that she was relaxed, and not riddled with in fear, ahe was actually taking them in properly? Well, it made sence in her head, whether it was true or not. Anyway, all she knew was that for some reason, this time she was acting strangely, rising to his flirting and replying with her own flirtatious tone. Discusting behaviour, her father would have called it.
Oh well, he wasn't here, and she was a grown adult now. She was only having some fun. It wouldn't hurt anybody. Plus, she was enjoying herself. Surprisingly alot. Flint was an old friend, somebody she felt comfortable around, which was rare these days, it wasn't really wrong of her to Flirt back with him, was it? Naah. 'Akila, you should know know that's not the best I can do,' The Ivory femme smiled, the corners of the mouth quirking up playfully as she waited to hear the rest of his retort. 'The question is, can you handle it?' Oh a challenge! Just what she loved, moch fighting with words. What could be more fun? Akila felt him nip at the side of her neck, and then turned to face him, their faces merely inches from eachother. She raised an eyebrow, padding round to his left side slightly, still watching his face. "I don't think its me we need to worry about." She replied softly, the only evidence given of her throwing a challenge back at him being the wicked grin on her maw.

"I don't think its me we need to worry about."
A smirk dared to tug the corner of his dark lips as his face was so close to touching hers. She hasn't changed a bit. Even back at the foggy island a year ago, when he was a mere two year old, Akila would retort to his flirting. She wasn't like other girls, that would be flattered so easily and do anything the male wished. No, she was different. She could throw it right back at him, without any hesitation. Was this part of her wicked game-to lead his desires on, to make the legends son fall for her? Why must you be so tantalizing to me.. He didn't need those overpowering desires on his mind right now. It was as if the small sense of self-control he had left had disappeared. Why must every little detail about her intrigue him so? Once again, questions flooded his mind about one little female. No matter how hard the timber wolf tried, the wolfess was all that was on his mind. The struggle could finally be visible on the brutes face. He didn't want to show how his mind was debating over her, but there was little he could do about it. Perhaps these feelings for her had been there all along, and the breeding season just made them come out tenfold.
Swiftly hiding the struggle that appeared on his visage, he quickly replaced it with another charming smile. Wither the femora had noticed the recent change of emotion in his features, he didn't know, but he needed to say something in case she would say something about it. He glanced around to his left side, where the fea had walked beside him with a grin shining upon her face. "Well, I suppose not.." He finally replied, slowly turning towards her as his side brushed against hers slightly. He looked upon her with a vengeful smile before he conjured up another scheme of his. The lower half of his body crouched down into a playful position. With a few low-pitched barks, he wagged his tail. "Alright, tough girl. Seeing as you obviously think you can't handle me.. I'll give you the pleasure of having your first shot at me." That's right. This time, he decided to challenge her-not to a fight, of course. More so to a mock-play fight. He just hoped that this would push back the feelings and thoughts he had for Akila.

Akila looked the Brute over, paying proper attention to what he actually looked like, something she had never actually managed to do when they'd first met. Mostly because the pair had been running for their lives. Their surroundings had gone deathly quiet, but Akila took no notice, all of her attention going to how muscular his body was, the colour of his eyes.. that sort of thing. His facial expressions switched for a couple of seconds, as though he was having some sort of concentrated argument with himself, but then were back to normal before Akila could even blink, his eyes taking on that playful twinkle again.
'Well, I suppose not.. Alright, tough girl. Seeing as you obviously think you can't handle me.. I'll give you the pleasure of having your first shot at me.' The light coloured fae laughed, her eyebrows raising as she looked at the Brute before him. This was a proper challenge, one she definitely could not refuse. He was a cocky wolf, Akila knew this, had known this from the start, and he was strong. She remembered, back on the island, seeing him fight those strange half-wolf things, he had been good. Skilled. But if she actually managed to pin him, as unlikely as it seemed, well. She'd never let him forget it.
Akila grinned, tail swishing with delight. She padded silently around, calculating angles, distances and the such, much like she would when hunting. Except this was much more fun. Once she'd gotten a lock on what she was aiming to do, the femme stopped walking, teasing, standing face to face with her friend, a few feet seperating them. She winked once, a sly grin forming at her maw, laughed, and then, playfully, lunged at him.

The alabaster coated femora circled him after he told her she could make the first shot. Once again, he could not keep his eyes off the aluring female. He thought this would help push away the thoughts he had. Well, was he dreadfully wrong. Of course I'm wrong.. every damn thing she does is right! Golden pools followed her every move, unsure of what she was deciding to do next. She even came face to face to him. He could feel every heart beat in his chest, pounding against his rib cage as the moments grew on. It was only so much more this brute could take. Her eye lid was drawn to a close-she was winking at him? Before he could even think about the mock fight they were in, Akila had softly tackled him to the ground, making him land on the ground.
A cloud of glistening, white snow eveloped them as it puffed up from the ground from his landing. The fea had landed on top of him, easily pinning him to the ground. The brute smirked, knowing that he'd never hear the end of this. Alright.. I'll let you have that one," He chuckled, knowing damn well that he was not focused when she had tackled him. "Or maybe, I planned it all along." He smiled playfully, tilting his head to gaze at the stunning wolfess, her features glowing in the pale moonlight. She was laying over him, his eyes drawn to her orbs. Too close for comfort-her scent was overpowering his senses, making those provocative thoughts come rushing back into his head. This, was not a good situation to be in. Not now.
Struggle consumed his features once more as he tried to resist his desires, but he didn't think he could do it anymore. He didn't want to force-breed with her. Though he had done so with females in the past, Akila was a delicate friend of his.. she was too dear to him to cost their friendship. He gently pushed her offf of him, trying to regain composure as he stood back on his feet. His hung his head, slightly shamed of himself that he couldn't even be near her without such thoughts flooding his mind. "I'm sorry, Akila.. I just can't do it." He's velvety tones rang softly, the cool breeze whisking through his multi-hued coat. He couldn't even give her an explanation as to why he pushed her off of him so suddenly. She probably had no idea what was going on. He had his back turned from her, not knowing what else to say or do. He didn't want to hurt her, so he needed to protect her from the monster he was deep down. He couldn't afford to lose one of the few wolves he cared deeply about. He stood silent, unsure if she would reply, yell at him, or just leave.

He was staring straight at her, right into her eyes, and it made her stomach feel strange, as though millions of butterflies were fluttering around inside of her. Akila was fully aware of the season, knew the effect it could have on wolves, on her. She liked this guy, probably more than she actually should, and didn't care whether it was mating season taking a grip on her or not. They were both here, now, and although she couldn't tell if he felt the same way, he was irritatingly good at hiding his expressions, she intended to take full advantage over such a situation. 'Alright.. I'll let you have that one. Or maybe, I planned it all along.' The ivory wolfess laughed, adopting a wide grin onto her snout. Her ears twisted slightly, catching the sound of something small going off in the distance, but she decided to ignore whatever it was, giving her full attention to the Brute she had pinned down below her. "Alright big guy, you just keep telling yourself that." Akila teased softly, smirking.
Flint pushed her off gently, and she initially grinned, until noticing the change in his expressions. He turned his back on her, head hanging slightly, as Akila rolled back onto her feet, standing up and shaking off the snow that was clinging to her white fur. 'I'm sorry, Akila.. I just can't do it.' The femme opened her mouth to reply, but snapped it shut again, confused and unsure what to say. What was wrong with him? Had she done something wrong? Said something to offend him? Her nose scrunched in uncertainty, her mind coming down from the cloud it had been hitching on, back to reality.
Taking a cautious step forward, eyes lowering to the paw print she left in the snow, before looking back up to Flint. "What? Whats wrong?" Akila asked gently, paranoid that it was her fault he was acting in this strange way. Well, even if it was, even if he did not want to talk now, she would find out the answer.

"What? Whats wrong?"
Flints eyes closed tightly, not wanting to say what had been on his mind almost the entire time. There was no light way to tell her what eager desires were deep in his dark heart, and that he could have possibly fallen for her. He just didn't want to admit to such a strong feeling. Alas, he had caused the tension in the air now, and there was no way he could just ignore the questioning female. She deserved to know what was wrong, yet the timber wolf couldn't find the words to say. His heart raced in his chest as her scent still lingered in the air around him. Her scent had rubbed off on him when she tackled him. The urges were overwhelming-he desperatly needed to get away from her.. but how?
He finally brought his head back up, his eyes re-opening as they set there sights on the young fea. He caught himself walking towards her, but immidiatly stopped himself from going any further. For once, he was ashamed to have such lust for a female. Either that, or it was love-he wished it was the former though. Lust was easy to take care of, but love.. that crap lasts a while. "Akila." He called out her name, as if he was about toadmit to all of his dark thoughts. Admit that he may have, indeed, felt something much more for the beautiful femora. But once again, the plans for the future held him back, making him go silent for a brief moment. His conflicting thoughts were confusing him, not knowing what to do, what to say, and overall how to react to this situation. "I should go." His soft tones finally murmered, his expression filled with guilt. H pulled his gaze away from the stunning vision before him, and began to pad away from her. He wasn't sure if she'd leave it at that, or confront him. He hoped she wouldn't consider the latter. He did this for her own good, confronting him would only provoke unwanted actions from the brute.

A slow, chilly breeze made its way over the snow covered outback, confirming that Summer had indeed bid its goodbye, and Autumn had moved in in its place. This meant the prey levels would slowly begin to deminish, leading the canine inhabitants of the Island into yet another draining, harsh Winter. The falling temperatures were evidence of such a thing, and could only mean that, just as last year, Kongrai would be covered again, in deep, deep snow.
This did not bother the young famora, though. For one, her coat was incredibly thick, proof of her arctic lineage, and secondly, her attention was far too focused on the Brute that stood before her to even begin to worry about the harsh times that lay shortly ahead. Just around the corner, infact. Right now, though, she wanted answers. Akila needed to know why Flint had all of a sudden decided to start acting strangely, when only mere minutes ago, the pair had been laughing and flirting together without issue. And now? Well, now he had gone all unresponsive, refusing to look at her and everything. Wierd.
Finally, he looked up at her again, his expression strange, and murmered something in a hushed tone. 'Akila..I should go.' Those seemed to be his parting words, as the male turned around, not looking at her, and padded away. The femme wanted to go after him, demand to know the answers, to stop being so confused over what the hell was going on. But something told her not to. So she did not. Akila merely watched him leave, standing on the snow covered ground, now alone.
ooc: Shall we leave it at that?
