Frost padded along the edge of Zestos lake and put her left paws in the water as she walked along. She sat down on a rock in the lake and watched the waters. A few small fish swam by. They were going fast. A bigger one was chasing them. Perfect. Frost waited until the fish was in paw reach. She waited until it was right below her until she darted out and heaved it onto the rock. It was a good enough meal for the moment. She grabbed it and went to a small area in the woods. She came to see some slightly flat grass, twigs moved, and a few other signs of life. She sniffed the area, trying to ignore the smell of fish. Two relaxing wolves, a few days ago. She lay a few feet away and chewed on her fish. Once it was gone, she sniffed the spot where the wolves had been. Yup, two wolves, they smelled like Xyla territory. She hadn't seen any other wolves for so long, were they pack members? Or intruders? She sat in the shade and pondered this for a long time.

This was a problem, a large one. Frost thought and thought about it. They were both strong, healthy wolves. She had never really gotten to know her pack mates, as she preferred to stay away from others, but she knew it was wisest to be in one. She couldn't figure out they were, and how this was such a big problem She knew it was, though. She knew what to do, at least at the moment. Stay, don't leave. They'll come back... Eventually. She got up and walked a while until she was in a well shaded area. There was a large rock in front of her. Perfect. Then, she started digging. A nice cool den chamber, underground, would help a lot. But, the energy was too valuable to use just digging, so she relaxed after a bit, and fell asleep.

Frost woke up a bit later, and felt a small breeze play across her muzzle, but it barely lasted. she dug for a while longer, and now, she had a small chamber. She went in and felt the cooler air of underground. Perfect... She sighed, and contemplated more on what to do about the other wolves. They're probably in my pack, she thought, if they are loners, there would be no reason whatsoever for them to come here, there's probably plenty of space from where they came from... And if not, they would've stopped in another pack. But what if they were chased out? Well, they wouldn't have been able to come here, they would think they would get chased out again. Whatever, she would solve it when the problem arose. She got out and went to the lake again, hoping to find another fish, but instead, she found a small school. In no time, she had a small pile stacked up next to her. She started at her pile, working her way down. She sighed contentedly, and wondered if she was going to stay here. It was a nice place, but still... She sat by the lake for a while, long after the fish were all gone, and her belly was full. Frost looked at the beautiful lake, then suddenly, leaped in. It felt good. She waded through the waters, the got out and shook herself. The water sprayed everywhere. Then, she set out around the lake as fast as she could. The wind whipped by, her speed fulfilling. She only made it around once, swimming through the river, then, she stopped to rest for a bit. But only for a bit, then she headed toward her den and dried off in the shade. With the heat, it didn't take long.

The heat truly was unnerving. Mating season was rapidly pproaching, shouldn't the temperature of dropped by now, the days possessed by fresh autumn breezes, instead of the forbidable sun? The sky was usualy cloudy, with the odd spots of rain this time of year, no clear and bright! And not to mention hot.
The femme seemed to be spending all her time here recently. Well, here and the beach. She'd been busy chasing around after Shade, trying her very hardest to keep him out of trouble after he'd stupidly got on the wrong side of Kaija. Stupid wolf, she thought to herself, her mind fogged with irritation, exhaustion and worry. Kishi was sure the Skyla would retaliate, family or not. She expected something bad to happen, and was fairly sure that if the Skyla were planning on attacking, it was not at all good news. Especially with the Xyla in such a small, vulnerable state.
The femme padded along the side of the Lake, only realising she was not alone when her nose picked up a familiar scent. She raised her head, and scanned along the clearing, trying to pick out where this wolf was. A fae, apparently, judging from the smell. After a few seconds, kishi spotted a den, and deciding this was where the pack member must be, padded over quietly. [/size]

Frost was thinking about staying, and grooming herself, thinking it might somehow cool her off, when a familiar scent came. One of the wolves! Well, she would decide when the problem arose, and here it was. The best thing to do was to use her normal approach, she guessed. Of course, she had never paid much attention to her pack mates before, there had been so many! It had been hard to get some alone time, so she hadn't paid much attention, and didn't really know if this wolf with the patchy brown fur was beta, or that black wolf with a blind eye was omega, but what if this wolf was one? A fae, hmmm, well, I'll figure it out eventually. She slipped out and saw a reddish brown wolf. Was this the alpha? Or the beta? She cursed herself for never paying attention to the other wolves, and now, when she needed to know, more than ever, she was clueless.

As Kishi drew closer, she began to recognise the scent. It was Frost, one of the packs less known members. A wolf she had not seen in a long time, just as she had not seen any of the other wolves. It was sad, really, that she had not kept tabs on whether her pack members had survived the past Winter. Something she hated herself for. She'd left the pack to fend for themselves, during the hardest of seasons, making the pups her main responsibility. And now she would pay for it, not knowing who had survived the harsh cold season, and who had not.
"Frost? Long time no see." She said with a gentle smile, stopping a few feet away from the Den, and sitting herself down quietly. She was curious to know what had happened to the Silvery coloured femme over Winter, and glad that she'd atleast managed to survive. She certainly looked healthy enough, as though she was in her prime, which was probably due to the current season. Yes, now that mating season was upon them, the alphess would have to keep an extra careful eye on her pack. It was her duty to keep them from dangerous rogue males trying their stupid luck. And she intended to do that duty well. Afterall, the safety of the pack came first, on her agenda.

"Frost? Long time no see." Frost finally remembered, this was the alpha, Kishi. "Kishi, I haven't seen you on a while, or anyone else, really." Frost started to relax. Inside, she was tensed up, like she always was when talking to someone, but if it showed, well, that wouldn't be good. She felt the cooler airs of autumn already, that was good. "Who was that wolf you were with here a while ago?" Frost wondered, probably another pack member, but, who knows? Kishi was the first creature larger than a bobcat she had seen in a long, long time. the closest was a young deer carcass, and it had been dead for a long time. And the old howls she used to hear had faded into nothing. Then, Frost picked up a faint scent in Kishi's fur. It had been covered by her own scent, but still... Was that Skyla scent? Frost was alarmed, why would she do that? For what? A rabbit jumped into the area, sniffed the air, and leaped away.
Ooc, Is Frost supposed to not be in the pack ranks?

'Kishi, I haven't seen you on a while, or anyone else, really.' Well, that made sence. Kishi herself had seen hardly anybody around recently. Infact, the only wolf she had seen, was Shade, the Warrior Brute. She watched the Silver famora, silently analysing how healthy she looked on the outside. She seemed well enough, atleast not about to drop down dead any second. It comforted Kishi to know that she had not completely failed her pack in the past year. "I know what you mean, I've hardly seen anybody else either. Infact i'm not even sure who's left and who's not." The femme said uncertainly, at the same time deciding she was going to have to soon call a pack meeting.
'Who was that wolf you were with here a while ago?' Other wolf? What was she - oh! It took Kishi a minute to fully understand what Frost was talking about, but then realised that the scents from her encounter with Shade must still linger here faintly. She must have a very strong nose, the alphess thought to herself in wonder. "Oh, that was just Shade, one of the pack warriors." Perhaps the only Warrior they had left, too. She did her best to keep any irritation from showing in her voice, deciding it was probably best to not mention his stupid voyage into her brothers dangerous packlands. After she had forbidden him to go. "Nothing to be alarmed about." The red fae said with a smile.
A rabbit jumped into the clearing, its little nose wiggling as it took in the surrounding scents. 'Kishi's ears flicked at the sound, and watched it contemptly, when it disappeared off in the opposite direction.
ooc: ooh yes, she is, sorry, have forgotten to update the pack ranks. What rank would you like for her?

The brute yawned softly as he looked around the area abit relived to finally be free from the annoying summer heat. But pack or no pack he still had a territory to guard and nothing was going to stop him from making his rounds. Even though he had stopped to talk with that vixen a few days ago other then kishi and kaiji she was the first wolf he had seen on Kongrai in a long time since the winter. But maybe things were bringing to change again?.. it seemed like the packs were getting more and more active everyday. Shad was so distracted by his own thoughts that he didn't notice the scents that were floating through the air. If he would have then he'd of known that in fact his alphess was not to far away but this was not the case. He slowly came to a small hill that helped him overlook the lake and its surrounding area, This kinda made the brute happy but the fight with kishi was still fresh in his mind.
He had really let her down this time and she had every right to be mad at him... What was he thinking speaking to an alphess like that!.. Shade wouldn't be the least bit surpised if kishi never wanted to speak to him again. he sniffed the air and now he dawned on him that there were two other wolves in the area and one was indeed his alphess but this just confused the brute even more.. Should he go see her?.. Or should he just continue his patrol and let her speak to him when she was willing to.. if she would ever speak to him again.. Shade shook his head softly not even caring to check out the second scent which was very unlike him especially seeing how it was inside of the xyla territory.. His territory and yet he had no interest in seeing who or what had made the scent in the first place.

Frost sniffed Kishi again, Yes, that was definitely Skyla. Why would she smell like that? Either she met another wolf from Skyla, or she went into pack territory. Well, again, she probably didn't meet someone from Skyla, they should have enough room, or they were banished. Hmmm... Well, best not to poke and prod too much. She thought about saying something, but she couldn't think of anything to really say... Nothing at all. She thought about autumn for a bit, and mating, but there was no way she was going to mate, she needed a mate, and she needed to be more prepared. Also, it just didn't seem like the best time. The winter left barely anything in the packs, but they might be too weak to defend new pups. The other thing autumn meant was winter, another one. Frost hoped it wouldn't be as brutal as the last one. She almost lost herself in thought, and was about to lay down, as it was an old habit, but then she remembered Kishi, and stayed up.
Ooc, none really

ooc: Does anyone mind if I make a new thread (which'll be Kishi calling a pack meeting) so that the thread involves the whole of the Xyla pack? I don't want to leave anybody without a roleplay partner in their thread see haha :S

ooc: Shaman is like the medicine wolf. She'd be in charge of treating ill or injured pack mates, or possibly wolves that have wondered onto the lands in ill health
