Frost ran along the border of Xyla land and loner land, thinking hard. What was she going to do? She slowed down a significant amount and started stalking a bird. It had a few other birds around it. Perfect. They seemed to be squabbling. Two launched themselves at another one. Frost lunged forward and killed them all. She sat down to much on one, leaving the other two for Halgea. A breeze blew her way. It smelled like another wolf. Probably a loner, nothing to worry or care about. She lost herself in thought again and kept munching on the bird. Maybe they should just wait it out, maybe take some temporary ground. The humans will eventually leave. But when? How? And at what cost? The best way to get rid of them was to kill them, not that that could happen. Shade seemed pretty angry at them once he heard the gunshot. He didn't make it. If more than just one angry brute came in, the humans might get killed. But the people who would plunge into the area are crazy. Hmmph.

As Oak made his way towards the border, he caught a scent on the wind. It smelled like a wolf of the Xyla pack. As he trotted over a small sand dune, he saw the wolf. She was a fae, with beautiful silvery-white fur, with shadowy black feet. His ears perked and he stared intently at her. He strided over to his food filled supply den. He smelled some birds. The heavy scent of blood soon filled the air and his stomach growled. He had come to get food and he was hungry as a baby albatross. One more scent, this time a baby deer, blew his way. He followed the scent to a near by birch tree and got a good chase out of it. After he had killed it he brought it back and saw the wolf munching on a delicious bird... He snapped out of it and started ripping hungrily at the deer.

Frost sniffed the air. A dead deer? And a wolf, it was herd to smell in all the blood, but it was probably a brute. She looked up from her finished bird. Yup, it was a loner. Maybe she should warn him about-hey, was he staring at her? He quickly snapped himself out of it and continued eating the deer. She sniffed again. No, the Xyla territory marking had been a long time ago. She got up and went to the border. Then she marked it a few places. er, "Hi'"

The brute mumbled something quietly. It looked odd for a strong brute to be whispering like he's going to get in trouble. "Who are you?" This was heard much clearer. "I'm Frost, you?" This was uncomfortable. And why was he so close to the border? A wave crashed onto the shore and washed some sand onto her paws. She was going to ask why he was so close soon. Then she would leave. Her pack needed her, and sitting back around, talking uncomfortably t some stranger wasn't going to help anyone. Her thoughts whirred back to the humans. Should she tell him? He seemed, er, timid, telling him that there were humans around might scare the fur off of him. Why was he so quiet? It just didn't seem to fit his appearance.

"Oak." Good, now just one more question and she could leave. Then an idea occurred to her. Was he a faker, trying to get her to like him, then, boom? That image seemed much more likely. She could always run, but the pack was already dealing with humans, an evil wolf wouldn't help them. Just relax... And if he is evil, just deal with him like normal. Trapping. "What are you doing so close to my borders?" She licked the last traces of blood from her jaws.

"Why are your borders so close to mine?" He asked irritably. "This is close to where the rest of my pa- where my parents live." Why were the Xyla so close? It bugged him... Parents? Really? What kind of dumb excuse was that?

"Why are your borders so close to mine? This is where my parents live." Really? Frost snarled on the inside. "I don't care. I'll give it a bet that Xyla has had these borders before you parents were even born. And you don't seem to smell like any other wolf." She did not like this wolf. Dumb liar. If he was going to lie, at least have some "proof." And now this conversation was taking too long. She needed to return soon.

"SO HAS THE EXOUSIA!" He barked as he turned on his heels and turned his back on Frost. He ripped a piece of the fawn for Lobolita, and left, up the sand dune and back to camp.

"SO HAS THE EXOUSIA!" He stormed off. That seemed to fit his image more. Exousia? The who? A pack? Hmm... Maybe, but there was no pack Exousia, she was sure of that. She went back, picked up the birds and went back to where everyone was. Well, if it was a pack, there was no need to warn him. He'd be fine. But again, why was he so close to the border? A new pack and the humans. Life was just so fine and dandy. Ooc, I think there's something wrong with spellcheck. Said "more." was spelled wrong.

Oak padded back to his den. The nice hole in between a few large rocks was cozy . He lay down and relaxed in it. A bird fluttered by. It flew away, probably leaving before winter really hit. That reminded him, he should prepare too. With a shudder, he remembered last winter. It was so harsh... He took a deep breath and got out to hunt. Within a few minutes, he had caught a plump rabbit. He bit into the juicy snack... Hungrily. Ravenously.

As Natalie strode through the territory, three scents filled her nose. One, a Xyla wolf, two, a strange brute, and three, a fawn. She cocked her head two one side, and shrugged, then followed the scents. She first came to Frost, the Shamen. She padded up close to her, and whispered in her ear, "What's going on?" But then, another new scent caught her nose. What was it? A pack? A pack marking borders so close was strange, but it was unlike any other scent she had ever smelled.
