Spring, it meant life. It meant a new beginning for even the smallest seed to sprout out of the confinements of the tenacious earth. Starting it’s journey into a beautiful oak, with broad branches ascending into blue hues, sharing its vibrant shades of green with the sky. It saddens me to know that the lush colors of life could not last forever. With every beginning, there is an unavoidable and inescapable end.
It was beautiful, of course, seeing spirited pigments captivate in place of the obscurity of grays and whites. I could sit all day, watching the sea of greens dance with the wind, as the sun beams down on the rich colors. The wind was a constant remembrance of the lingering cold, waiting to seize the luscious color which has no other choice, but to succumb to a harsh layer of icy white. Waiting... to be stained with splatters of crimson... as a loud thunder rings in the night air...
My black lids tighten shut, covering my pale champagne orbs. My small dark body trembles at the ideation. The earsplitting gunfire rings in my obsidian auditories. My heart races at the revolting thought, when the wind blew violently through the continuous falling snow. It was as if I were back at that day, when the storm brewed turbulently across the barren landscape. The day when I lost everything, when I lost Silhouette.
White... that’s all that was visible on that bitter night. There was a thick layer of ice layering on our ebony pelts, our heads bended against the harsh winds, trying to shield our eyes from the plummeting diamonds. There was nowhere to go, but forward, embracing the storm and its harsh conditions. We had no idea where we were going, at least I didn’t.
“Just keep moving, it’ll all be over soon.”, my brother hollered out the words over the howling winds, trying to reassure me that everything will be okay. It was a surprise that he said anything at all, he had become very reserved ever since the attack on our family. It was odd for him to suddenly speak out now, but I kept pushing forward, unaware of the grim reaper lurking, ready to take the only life that meant anything to me... My mind becomes hazed as I lapse in and out of reality and all I can hear are Silhouettes last words... "Just keep moving, it'll all be over soon...".
I lay on the ground, cowering in the deep muck, hushed whimpers escaping my ebony lips, the memory so vivid in my mind. My small body continues to press into the cold mud, trying to hide from something... but nothing was here. As if there were humans... standing on only two legs a short distance away, ready to fire their deadly metal sticks, with a small obsidian wolf locked in their sights. I continue quivering in the milky brown mud, replaying the horrific events in my head. There was no one, but myself and the tall blades of green grass.
"Just keep moving, it'll all be over soon."
ooc: I sure hope this makes sense. >.>

The brute would gingerly make his way though the field he knows oh so well, It wouldn't be long until he made it home.. back to his pack and then he will once again safe within their numbers, He would look across the field with a soft smile on his face but it would not last long as his eyes fell upon a relic of the past, A pile of rubble that use to be something for those two legged creatures, He sighed softly padding on as he sunk mentially out of the physical world to hide in his memories though not all of them were pleasent but it was better then having to deal with the thought or the sights of what the two legged things had done to this beautiful land. He could vaguely remember his alpha Karn and his mate Kishi, Not to mention his mentor in the warrior class and his best friend Shade and how much they seemingly ment to him, He would not allow himself to let them down he already felt as though he had by allowing himself to be cut off from them for so long but all that was about to change, Just then something pulled him out of his musings and back into the physical world.
It was faint but there was a scent of another wolf, A fae to be exact but that was the only scent he could pick up, Why would she be out here all alone with no pack? No company?, Sure someone could ask him the exact same thing but it was not his choice to be this far away from his pack's territory and all he could do was blame the damning weather and the blinding snow for his presence here, In his current state however he wouldn't be much of a threat to anyone, He was currently under weight and his body was still struggling to recover from the cold weather it had endured not to mention the failed hunting attempts but that was to be expected after all he was a warrior not a hunter, He slowly and gingerly made his way toward the scent. The closer he got the stronger the fae's scent became and it also became crystal clear she was alone there was no longer any doubt in that, "She's lucky i found her instead of one from the skyla pack.." The male thought as he stopped a few feet away and looked around before spotting the fae laying in the mud, It was a good cover if a wolf was being tracked by those two legged creatures who can only track by sight it seemed but it was far to easy for a veteran warrior like himself to tell her scent apart from the smell of the mud.
"Uh.. Mis you okay?" Eclipse said as he would lower his rump to the ground keeping his eyes trained on the shewolf, He felt sorry for her this was true but he did not feel enough to drop his guard for even a moment even if she was a beautiful fae he had been tricked before and was not about to allow that to happen again, His plan was to make sure she was un-injuried and that she wasn't sick then he would proceed onto his pack territory and to reunite with his pack which he was dying to do but he would not feel right if he left an injuried or sick fae to fend for herself out here. the least he could do was offer her some help or atleast some company or comfort and if she refused then he would not make her, he would just take his leave.

The echo of an ear splitting crackle rings through the chilled night air. Her body flinches at the burst of noise against the howling winds, crouching down into the deep snow. Adrenaline courses through her veins, and the hackles on her back bristle in all directions. Her Illuminating eyes peer through the falling ice with a deadly intent, looking for the source of the frightening noise, but that's all that is visible is white. She continues to stand in a defensive position, a loud snarl escaping the wolfs small chest, baring sharp ivories. She stood ready to sink in her incisors into whoever was out there, threatening her very existence.
There is nothing visible, but the damned falling snow... The young girl can't help thinking that there is something she’s forgetting. Her snarl starts to calm, lowering into a low growl as orbs dart around, the nagging thought of something gone astray phasing her overwhelming instinct to defend herself. There is something that is slipping her mind, still she glares around with a vicious expression, but her thoughts slowly clarifies. There is something important, something she would risk everything for and he was no longer in sight. Finally It hits her, panic rises when she realizes it's her brother that's missing and runs off into a sprint searching for the dark pelted wolf that looked after her ever since she was a pup. Oblivion searched through the blizzard frantically... through the bullets whizzing past her, no longer caring about her well being. Silhouette was all she had left and she had to find him.
The ashen clouds that hangs over the grassy fields begin to drop their translucent droplets and onto the small faes snout, her lids snap open, revealing her pale champagne orbs, the rains cold touch somewhat bringing her back to reality. Her small body still lays on the ground and the small wolf gazes up, looking at the facade of deep grays the clouds held. She could see one by one the droplets making their descent and quickening. There was something beautiful about it... she still couldn't help, but feel there was something she was missing... she was somewhat lost, as if she were still back on that day...
The small obsidian wolf had this longing, to get up and search whatever she had been looking for, but was lost for a moment as to why and what it was and layed there, caked in a muddy bath as the rain slowly started to pour, trying to figure out what it was. Her thoughts come to an abrupt stop as her eyes widened, black ears twitched to the unmistakable sound of movement. The distinct sound of paws, pressing into the wet soil becomes louder and closer. Oblivion scrambles to get up trying to hide from the stranger that draws nearer, but the surface of the mud is slippery and she falls back into the muck with this loud smack. She is completely overwhelmed with fear, knowing what had happened to her family and how dangerous it is out here being alone without a pack.
Her champagne orbs look up to a dark figure against the sun pearing from the stormy clouds clutch as the rain falls heavily, drumming against the ground. Her eyes show nothing, but fear and a dark abyss her mind had seemed to recover from. There is something familiar about the way this wolf looks, but she still does not let her guard down. The fae watches as the dark wolf moves his mouth to form words, "Uh.. Mis you okay?", the raspy voice of a brute ringed through the roaring rains and into the fae’s night black ears. Her thoughts rush back to that dreaded night, there was something she was looking for and became engrossed in the memory, thinking he was what she was searching for. All she could think about was her brother, and finding him. His voice continued to ring in her mind, Just keep moving, it’ll all be over soon. Was it him?
"Silhouette?", she asked quietly, barely audible to even her own ears.
Questions flooded her lost mind as she slowly brought her self to a stand. Had he made it through the blizzard? Did he manage to escape the deaf blowing sounds? What had happened to him? Where has he been? How could he just leave her alone to fend for herself? And she would have asked all these questions too if it weren't for this nagging feeling that this wolf was different. She stood ankle deep in the mud and lifted her muzzle, smelling the air around him through the descending liquid and his scent was off from the one she knew so well. The wolf was still lost in that flash of memories, she shakes her head, as if to physically clear her mind. It seemed like a lifetime, but Oblivion soon came to the realization that it couldn’t have been Silhouette, she knew what had happened to him, but her mind was still absorbed with the recollection of events. How could I have thought it was him... I know that Silhouette is gone.
|
[/color] Her eyes gazed down, now studying the ground as the rain pounded against it, altering it into different shapes. The petite female no longer cared who this wolf is, if he were here to threaten her very life or even to help. All she could focus on was this sad hollow emotion and just wanted it to end. She no longer concerned herself about what this wolfs opinion was of her, he probably already thought she was crazy... and maybe she was... What had he asked anyways? Am I okay? She would have laughed at the question if it weren't for the situation. She was nowhere near stable, but there was nothing this or any other wolf could do about it. Oblivion stood in silence for a while, studying the wolf and noticed how skinny he was. She knew from that, that there could be no way he was in any pack at the present time... so he couldn't have been a threat, right? He was in no condition to just come up to a stranger asking about their well being. Oblivion could have been a bloodthirsty killer for all he knew. Was he stupid? She tried to leave what had just happened in the past and gave the brute this look, flashing a white smile against her dark features, "Are you okay?". After all, he was the one confronting a stranger he knew nothing about. I could be deadly, she thought. "Are you okay?"
The brute slowly let out a soft chuckle before shaking his head slowly, it was a very wise question after all he did just walk up out of the blue and she did not know him at all, the only scent on him that was on him was the very weak and very old xyla scent, He shifted his head to look at the sky as things seemed to have changed and now they had an unexpected shower not that the brute minded after all he had been traveling for quite sometime to get back home, he then looked back at the fae as his lips parted once more."I'm quite alright, Don't let my appearance fool you"
The brute slowly rose from the ground once again standing as he shook out his pelt before looking up to the sky once more, it was finally settled there was little more he would be able to do in this weather, Sure it wasn't as bad as the blizzards that had hit the island in the past and many wolves seemed to enjoy the rain but he was not one of those wolves. He detested this weather all it did was make things harder especially hunting, He parted his lips only long enough to let out a howl as he perked his ears and waited for a moment, Once more like all though out his journey to get back here there was no response,
he then looked around spotting a cave just big enough to hold maybe three wolves, he then glanced over at the fae. I know i'm most likely going to regret this but.., he would shift his weight kicking a rock causing it to roll into the fae unless she moved out of the way."If you want to get out of the rain then you're welcome to join me if not then that's your problem" he said before making his way over to the forementioned cave, Laying just inside the mouth of it watching the rain slam against the earth.

The quiet laughter almost brought warmth in her cold hollow interior and the corners of her mouth slightly lifted, flashing a small smile against her dark features. It was the nicest thing to slip into her ears in a long time, even if it was slightly obscured with the water drumming against the earth. Oblivion was just caught up in that slightest feeling, wanting it to remain there forever, exhausted with this constant dread that consumed her dreams, steadily devouring whatever was left of her. But the feeling disappeared as soon as it emerged. It was gone in an instant and she just silently observed the brute, with an emotionless expression.
The stranger moved his soft sky blue gaze to the sky, observing the charcoal hued clouds as translucent droplets descended from it. He then turned his gaze back to the obsidian fae. "I'm quite alright, Don't let my appearance fool you". The old Oblivion would have sprung with curiosity at this comment, but she wasn’t that wolf anymore. It did, however, lead her to question who exactly this wolf was. What was his importance, if he held any at all, she thought. Of course she would never ask him herself, the fear internally far too great, but she never dared show it. This wolf could very well be a threat to her life, the nagging questions were pulling on her thoughts, and she did have to admit that she wanted to know. Who the hell is he?
The wolf rose and Oblivion immediately took a few steps back, distancing herself. Her ears flattened against her skull in a shy submissive behavior. The wolf stood taller than the fae, It came no surprise to her, after all she was a small little thing and most wolves she came across were larger than her. The femme cringed back as the rude brute shook his pelt free from the rains, spraying water everywhere. It’s not like it mattered, the fae was already drenched to the bone... and covered in mud at that. She watched as the wolf lifted his head to the sky one more time, but this time parting his maw. What the hell is he doing? No. “S- Stop”, she called out, but it was too late and the scrawny rude male let out an elongated howl. She gave the wolf a frightened expression, What the hell had he just done? She just stood there, questioning the decision of this (what seemed like) stupid brute. He pretty much just let everybody in a ten mile radius know where they were at. Who is he calling to another anyways? Another wolf?... a pack? It would make a hell of a lot more sense if he was in a pack. A pack... a shiver ran down her spine at the ideation. All she could think about was her family and what had happened to them.
She just stared at the wolf, frozen in fear as he made his way to a small cave, kicking a rock behind him. Oblivion was too caught up in her own musings to notice and the damn thing somehow bounced up and hit her straight in the head. She let out a soft grunt as the stone bounced of her head. Well... that’s... nice, she thought. The stranger, now laying in the mouth of the cave floor studied the ground before him and spoke, "If you want to get out of the rain then you're welcome to join me if not then that’s your problem" Oblivion just looked down at the puddles collecting on the ground, unsure of a decision. She just stood there as the rain soaked her pelt, her long thick fur clinging to her small body, exposing her defined ribs and protruding hip bones. Her thoughts are in a faraway place, lost in the memory of her parents and siblings meeting their demise. She had no reason to trust this wolf, let alone a pack wolf, assuming that he was one. Who else would he call to? There was no way she was going to stick around with a pack wolf... she was not about to get caught up in the affairs of a pack. If there was any pack scents lingering on him, Oblive didn't notice. She hoped he didn't belong to any pack, Oblivion couldn't trust any, not after what happened to her family.
The rain would be a slight problem, however. It was barely visible, she could only see a few feet in front of her. She pondered at the idea of... staying in the cave with the wolf for a bit... but was unsure of a decision. After all, he didn’t get any reply... He could very well just be calling out to single wolf... Could she risked waiting out the rain with a mere stranger or toughing it out in the bad weather? I mean hell she's been through plenty of terrible things... some worst than others and managed to survive. Either decision she made really couldn’t have been any more horrific than the ones previous. Slowly the fae made her way to the cave, her body language screaming submission. She hunched her body, as if trying to make herself appear smaller. The small black wolf moved to the farthest corner of the cave, leaning into the cool rock wall. Oblivion wanted as much distance from the stranger made possible. Her orbs peered around the cave, looking for an escape route in case a wolf or a pack did come rushing in, but there was only one opening. A sigh escaped her chest, maybe this isn't such a good idea. She just tried to make her self comfortable in the her little corner, resting her head on her paws. She said nothing, there wasn't anything to say. Oblivion would stay here until the storm passed and simply leave and that would be the end of it.
(Eh, done I guess.)

The lupe's thorns slowly rose as they picked up the sound of approaching paw steps, So the shewolf had elected to join him after all that was a nice surprise, If he had to guess he thought that she would of stayed outside mainly because she didn't seem like a very trusting fae, not that he really could blame her with everything that's happened on the islands lately. The pointless wars and now the threat of a wolf named Zentha and his gang. Hell Eclipse found it hard from time to time to trust strange wolves as well, The male had to admit though he was abit curious why she would be out here all by herself but he elected not to prod her with questions for two main reasons, One they had just bumped into each other and two a wolf's past is their own business and that should always be respected. so he would try his best not to pry into hers.Though everyone needed someone to comfort them, The brute slowly got up shifting his attention over to the smaller female then glanced out of the cave and at the translucent drops of water falling from the sky, there was just one problem, He wasn't exactly the comforting type.
But there was not much of a choice the storm wasn't going to just fade away anytime soon and he was not about to just lay here and do nothing, With a heavy sigh which caused the male's chest to heave, He glanced back toward the fae once more before slowly making his way toward her, making sure that his body language was not threatening or intimidating in the least, the last thing he wanted to do was scare this poor girl more then she already seemed to be. His thorns were at attention listening for any sound that she might of made to signal that he was getting to close or she was getting annoyed. He laid down just a few feet away staring at her a moment before laying his head down on his front paws. "So what brings a female such as yourself out here all alone?" He said with a soft warm smile upon his muzzle, Did he expect her to respond? No not really but it would be nice to have a conversation going even if he had to keep it going by himself.
Just then a noise caught the male's attention, not enough to make him leave the female by herself of course but it did cause the male to glance back to the opening of the cave for a moment. His timing was perfect as he witnessed a rock tumble into the mouth of the cave. "Hm.. It could of fallen from all the rain..", the male thought and it very well could of but his warrior instincts were telling him something different, They were telling him that there very well could be another animal out there but because of the rain it would be nearly impossible to get a reliable scent, he slowly rose to his feet placing himself between the unknown and possible threat and the small female behind him. his thorns twitching trying to pick up any sound that might give him a clue, but all he could hear was their breathing and the rain dropping to the earth.
Perhaps he had been correct and the rock had simply been eroded away from the face of the cave. which now that the male had a chance to think about it, it did make alot of sense but the one thing that evaded his mind was how protective his actions would of appeared to the she-wolf near by, He shifted his form back around laying down in the same position he was in before the disturbance. "Still quiet as a mouse she is, hmm.." the male thought again laying his head back down slowly closing his eyes, his thorns still perked absorbing the sounds around them.

The ebony fae was imprisoned by not the slabs of ice cold rock that shielded her from the blinding storm, but the osseous matter holding the precious cargo that constantly stirred with hateful lyrics, always hitting Oblivion with the hardest blows they had to offer. She pressed herself against the stone wall, as if that would silence the damnation's hurtful songs. Her obsidian lids would tighten against each other, all she wanted was this to end...
Her eyes would flicker to attention as her keen senses caught the sound of movement from the other being residing in the cave, sheltering from the rains. She watched as the dark stranger approached her in a relaxed, but unmenacing manner. She squirmed inside, preferring the distance between each other rather than thus sudden closeness. Her ebony dipped fur would bristle slightly, not completely of fear of the brute, but to warn him that she was not comfortable with this closeness.
Her tensed muscles would relax slightly seeing that he had stopped to lie down a few feet in front of her, but she still felt a bit uncomfortable. Soft tones would creep into her obsidian auds as the stranger began to speak. He had asked her a simple question, but would receive no answer as to her business here. It's not that she was ignoring the wolf, but she was only able to let a few words slip pass her ebony lips. She wasn't good at holding a conversation.
A rock slipping from his holding place would fall to the ground outside the cave, causing the girl to flinch at the sudden noise. Her head would move away from the male and follow his gaze to the mouth of the cavern. She watched as the male would investigate the scene, using his keen senses to try and figure out what caused the rock to fall. From that point on, Oblivion stayed alert, watching the opening of the cave, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

He would watch outside the cave for any sign of life after all the chances of that rock just happening to fall and roll into the cave were very slim to begin with but for it to happen when they just happened to be there was down right impossible timing, but because of the damned rain he couldn't pick up any useful scents and the brute allowed his disappointment in himself to show as he let out a massive sigh before glancing back to the fae, He wasn't a genius or anywhere as smart as most wolves she could of encountered but he knew when someone was hungry and she was clearly hungry but instead of acting like a jerk he decided that he would win this fae's trust by being his usual caring self, He glanced down at his own slim figure then back out at the pouring rain, It wasn't an ideal situation but he had no other choice if he wanted to atleast start to gain her trust or atleast get her name for starters, He slowly made his way out into the rain with the thought of a nice hunt on his mind but he knew it most likely wouldn't be all that great after all he wasn't the best of hunters around and the conditions did not seem to make matters any easier but he would to his damn est to get her something to eat even if it ment he would have to go another day without food himself.
It didn't take long once he had made his way into the nearby woodlands to spot a young buck which made the brute grin and lick his chops, That would make a nice meal for just two wolves and it wouldn't be to hard of a hunt..for a healthy wolf.. but he was underweight and that would only serve to make this hunt even harder plus his lack of skills so he didn't have high hopes for this but charged in anyway luckly his approach was muffled by the pouring rain allowing him to get the jump on the buck but that did not mean it would go down without a fight, It took quite a few tries but he finally managed to bring the buck down the only problem now was getting it back to the cave and heck he didn't even know if the she-wolf was still there. He grabbed a hind leg of the buck and started to pull it along but he kept getting the strangest feeling that he was being watched so every few feet he would stop and drop the buck then start scanning his surroundings but each time he found nothing but rain and damp plant life and silence. He shook his pelt out once more and regripped the carcass starting to pull it back to the cave and after awhile he would finally arrive back at their tempary home cave which was pitch black so he had no idea if she was there or not." Hey if you're still here, I managed to catch us a meal"

She was alone, the man had left without uttering a single word before wandering into the pouring rain after investigating the stone that had made its way to the mouth of the cave floor. He had only glanced back at the fae one final time before leaving her to her own musings. Oblivion rose to a stand, walking to the opening of the cave, trying to peer through the falling rains, curious as to where the brute may have went of too, but he was not visible to her keen sense of sight. Her warm breath would fog over as she let a sigh escape past parted lips and returned to the depths of the cave.
She was so tired, exhausted, life had really taken a tole on the girl alone without her beloved brother. Her head would rest on her fore paws as they once were when she first entered the slabs of rock that would shield her from the bitter cold storm, struggling to keep herself awake. Her black lids would fall over those champagne orbs of hers and shutter back open as she tried to stay awake.
Her body felt increasingly cold, maybe it was from the cool rock floor she was resting from, or maybe the cold hard truth was that she was dying... still she remained fighting from deaths soothing grasp, she would never give in, her brother had taught her better... or at least that's what she believed to be true. What she was about to see was completely and totally unexpected as two figures entered the cave. A wolf, dragging some limp body on the ground with him.
Weakly, she came to a stand, trying to seem like a dangerous opponent to the figure before her. Ebony dipped fur would bristle in all directions as she would let out a menacing growl, trying to fend off who ever had come. A familiar scent would soon waft into the obsidian nostrils of the girl, she had not expected the stranger to return. She relaxed slightly, moving slowly towards the brute to get a better look at him and what he had brought with him. Her head cocked to the side, noticing the long dead buck on the ground beside him. No, she had not expected this at all...

The male would watch in amusement as the fae tried to make herself seem threatening even though he could barely make her out from the darkness of the cave but alas she seemed to settle once she realized who he was again but at the same time she seemed abit confused that he had actually returned which only led the male to believe that this shewolf had been left behind before and he shook his head in disbelief who could ever leave such a beautiful female undefended. Sure she was brave enough but bravery on these lands could as easily get you killed as make you a hero, the brute went to pad further into the cave but just then a scent caught his attention..
causing him to turn half way back toward the entrance of the cave, His fur bristling up as a soft snarl emitted from his vocal cords and his eyes narrowed as he now stood in a protective stance placing himself between the fae and the mouth of the cave not caring about his own safety at the moment, So the rumors were true Sparta had gone rogue once more but he never ever once thought that that brute would ever try and track him down but the scent just inside the cave.. It was his.. and it was fresh.. without looking back the male spoke softly though clenched fangs."Are you okay? Did you see anyone come here before i got back?.."
